How we work

We are an Indigenous-owned company that operates using an indigenous-based business model. We are committed to implementing indigenous teachings into our corporate philosophy, as well as our day-to-day operations.

AKI is extremely proud of its unique governance model. Under each program, the community becomes a board member in that project – in essence, the clients become our boss.

AKI responds to community needs, and in doing so, it does not push programs on communities. The company’s focus is on creating customized solutions that meet the needs of each community. 

In short, AKI is always asking the communities what they need.
